Today, Wednesday, Iraqi warplanes carried out raids on "ISIS" sites in Hamrin Mountain, on the border separating the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command in Kirkuk and the operations headquarters of Salah al-Din.

Yahya Rasoul, the Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, said that "under the supervision and planning of the Joint Operations Command, and according to accurate intelligence information and extensive field scouting, warplanes targeted two ISIS sites."

Simultaneously, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the security forces launched a joint operation in Salah al-Din Governorate "to track ISIS remnants."

The PMF explained that "the operation aims to search, cleanse, and secure the Ajil Mountains from ISIS remnants..." 

In addition, the Iraqi National Security Apparatus held an expanded meeting at its headquarters, led by Abdul Ghani al-Asadi, Head of the Apparatus.

Al-Asadi's media office pointed out in a statement that the meeting confirmed to follow up on the security plans established to protect electric power towers from targeting and catch the perpetrators through intelligence and proactive information.

PMF announced, on Monday, the martyrdom of one of its regiment commanders and a companion of his, in a drone strike in Sinjar, in Nineveh Governorate.

Three days ago, the Iraqi army, along with a PMF force, launched a full-scale operation in search of "ISIS" remnants, east of the city of Tal Afar in Nineveh, northern Iraq.
