Kenyan presidential election polls are now open
As President Uhuru Kenyatta is stepping down, Kenyans vote in the millions for a new President, parliament, and local authorities.
As the polls of elections in Kenya open on Tuesday, millions of people are flocking to cast their ballots for a new parliament, president, and local authorities. Live footage from local television is broadcasted as the event develops.
Raila Odinga, the Veteran opposition, as well as Deputy President William Ruto are at the forefront of the race to succeed current President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has served since 2013. Kenyatta is stepping down as President due to the country's term limits.
Although China is Kenya's second-largest creditor behind the World Bank and has funded infrastructure projects, Ruto, an extreme right-wing presidential contender, has declared he will deport Chinese nationals from the country.
