Khatibzadeh: Iran Will Focus on Lifting Sanctions in Vienna
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirms that Iran's negotiating team will head to Vienna "with a serious will to lift the sanctions imposed on the Iranian people."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Iran-IAEA relations "have always tried to be technical and within the framework of safeguards and procedures of the Agency."
In his weekly press conference ahead of IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi's visit to Tehran, Khatibzadeh pointed out that the IAEA is "well aware that all the acts of sabotage committed by the Zionist regime against Iran, which have been accompanied by the silence of some countries, have had a significant impact on some technical aspects."
He also mentioned that some countries tried to put pressure to isolate Syria from the Arab world, but now have discovered the necessity of its return, which Iran and Russia welcome.
Khatibzadeh affirmed that the "Iranian negotiation team will leave for Vienna with a serious will to lift the sanctions imposed on the Iranian people," and hoped that other sides come with serious will and good intentions to reach a practical and comprehensive agreement.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman states that some sides are making miscalculations on the eve of the Vienna talks.
Although former US President Donald Trump is gone, the rumor-spreading center in Washington remains active, considered Khatibzadeh.
He also indicated that the current US administration is sending contradictory messages and warned that distorting facts will not provide constructive results, as the only way for the US is to lift sanctions.
Earlier this month, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein AmirAbdollahian, asserted that if the Americans and the Europeans were to negotiate, then they would have to be "realistic" in order to achieve an effective and speedy agreement.
Commenting on Iraq's Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein's statement to an Israeli media outlet, Khatibzadeh said Iran has always sought to enhance cooperation with the countries of the region, but it has always emphasized that "Israel" is the source of every security disturbance in the region.
Earlier, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, confirmed on the sidelines of Bahrain's annual Manama Dialogue conference that Iraq will not normalize relations with "Israel."
