Kiev could fall within 96 Hours: Reports
US and Ukrainian sources expect that Kiev will fall within four days, with the Ukrainian government following suit in roughly a week.
The Russian armed forces might take control of Kiev, Ukraine's capital, within 96 hours, Newsweek reported on Thursday, citing US and Ukrainian sources.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said earlier in the day that Russian troops had advanced toward Kherson and cleared the North Crimean Canal, restoring water flow to the Crimean Peninsula.
Three unidentified US officials told the magazine that Kiev will fall within four days, with the Ukrainian government following suit in roughly a week.
Meanwhile, a source close to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government concurred with the prediction that Kiev may be surrounded in 96 hours. They did not believe, however, that the government would fall apart.
Following the Donbass republics' appeal for aid in confronting the Ukrainian armed forces' aggression, Russia launched a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine on Thursday.
