DPRK leader Kim Jong-un on Wednesday conducted inspections aimed at assessing and advancing the nation's industrial capabilities, state media reports detail.

Kim embarked on this comprehensive tour following a crucial plenary meeting of the ruling Workers' Party's Central Committee.

A highlight of Kim's itinerary was his visit to a munitions plant, which holds strategic significance in the DPRK's pursuit of enhancing national defense capacities.

The plant's unmanned production lines particularly caught Kim's attention, prompting him to herald them as the benchmark for modernization across all sectors of the economy.

Stressing the importance of such technological advancements, Kim urged top party officials to familiarize themselves with these standards to effectively oversee the modernization efforts across various economic units.

Beyond the munitions plant, Kim also inspected other integral components of the DPRK's industrial infrastructure.

The DPRK and Russia signed a comprehensive strategic agreement on June 19. The treaty includes a commitment from both countries to provide military and other forms of assistance in the event of an attack on either nation.

Putin described the agreement as "truly a breakthrough."

"The document on comprehensive partnership that we signed today provides, among other things, for mutual aid in case of aggression against one of the participants," he added

Moscow supports Pyongyang’s right to protect its security and sovereignty from potential Western aggression, he further said. He also attributed the rising tensions in the region to the actions of the US and its allies.
