Kremlin: Nothing Remarkable About Pandora Papers Except That US Is the Largest Tax Haven
Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, comments on the information published in the Pandora Papers.
Press Secretary for the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, commented on the information published on Sunday in the Pandora Papers, saying that "This is just a set of largely unsubstantiated claims."
“We didn’t see anything on hidden wealth within Putin’s inner circle,” Peskov said, adding that it was not clear “how this information can be trusted.”
Peskov considered that the investigation contributed to revealing the country that represents the largest tax haven in the world. He declared that "The only thing that actually catches the eye is the demonstration of which state is the world's biggest offshore and tax laguna. And, this is, naturally, the United States."
Peskov stressed that the current information is not a sufficient reason to carry out any investigation, doubting its authenticity.
Pandora Papers
The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists had published an investigation with the participation of about 600 journalists related to the financial secrecy of heads of state and government, based on 11.9 million leaked documents covering various parts of the world.
