Israeli statements on the explosion's details have been contradictory. Some Israeli media outlets claimed that the blast in the occupied Haifa Bay refineries was due to a malfunction, characterizing it as "non-security-related." Conversely, other Israeli media sources proposed that the explosion was a result of a missile strike.

At the same time, Israeli affairs expert Feras Yaghi stated to Al Mayadeen that there appears to be a security incident in the occupied Haifa Bay, with talks within "Israel" about a possible missile strike.
On a related note, the Iraqi resistance last week targeted a vital target in Israeli-occupied Haifa. According to the official statement released by the Iraqi Resistance, the operation was conducted using the now-revealed "al-Arqab" upgraded long-range cruise missile.
The Resistance emphasized it "will continue to target enemy strongholds," promising that more is yet to come.
