The Lebanese Armed Forces announced on Monday that one of its soldiers was captured by the Israeli Occupation Forces, who was in civilian clothing.

Contact was lost with the soldier, before investigations showed that Israeli troops targeted him with gunfire in the outskirts of Kfashouba, wounding him before capturing him and taking him to occupied Palestinian territories on Sunday, according to a statement by the Lebanese Army.

This comes as Israeli Occupation Forces escalate their violations of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, killing and wounding civilians and Lebanese army personnel with gunfire and conducting airstrikes in South Lebanon and Bekaa.

Israel violates ceasefire in Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces killed one soldier and injured two others, one of whom was critically injured following Israeli gunfire that targeted a group of civilians near the Fatima Gate in Kfarkila on March 9.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported on March 8 that an Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle in the outskirts of al-Jumeijmeh and al-Sawwaneh, killing one person, while the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that one person was killed and another was wounded in a drone strike on a vehicle in Khirbet Selem.

Previously, Israeli jets conducted 28 airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon on March 7: Wadi Zibqin, the area between Aita al-Shaab and Beit Yahoun, the outskirts of al-Ayshieh, as well as a valley between Ansar and Zrariyeh, Tibna.

On March 6, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in south Lebanon reported that two civilians were injured after Israeli forces opened fire on them in Tall Nahas, while a shepherd was injured after a drone dropped a stun grenade on him.

A few days ago, the Lebanese Army Command declared that "the Israeli occupation continues its violations of Lebanon's sovereignty by land, sea, and air, with the latest incidents including a series of attacks targeting civilians in the south and the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, in addition to its ongoing occupation of Lebanese territory and repeated breaches of the land borders."

The Lebanese Army's statement emphasized that "Israel's" persistent attacks on Lebanon threaten its stability and "negatively impacts regional stability," adding that such actions "are in complete violation of the ceasefire agreement."
