Locally-made equipment proven efficient in Zolfaghar 1401: Army chief
The commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force says the military unit enjoys the highest combat readiness and defense capabilities in dealing with advanced threats.
Iranian Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari stressed that the Iranian Army's Ground Force is in the "most appropriate" state to carry out drone operations and is capable of countering any kind of threat.
Press TV cited Heidari as saying that the Iranian Army's Ground Force has managed to use new tactics and techniques, particularly in the fields of drones and aviation, during the latest Zolfaghar 1401 joint military drills, which were held earlier this month.
The Brigadier General indicated that the military units carry out exercises throughout the year in order to boost their preparedness for any threat and discover their points of weakness and strength.
Heidari noted that the Iranian Army's Ground Force has conducted numerous drills and has proved that it enjoys the highest combat readiness and defense capabilities in dealing with advanced threats.
The commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force underlined that drones are among the most important components of defense power in the country's military.
He also confirmed that the Iranian Armed Forces have successfully managed to achieve the objectives of the Zolfaghar 1401 military drills by using domestically-manufactured equipment.
Last week, Mehr quoted Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, who is in charge of Zolfaghar 1401, as saying that the joint exercises aim to increase the readiness of the Iranian troops, which include "the infantry, armored, mechanized units of the ground forces, defense systems of the air defense force, subsurface, surface, flying vessels and rangers of the army navy with strategic fighter jets support."
Sayyari added that other goals of Zolfaghar 1401 include improving the skill of conducting operations in special conditions, such as contaminated environments with chemical, microbial, and nuclear materials, electronic warfare, and difficult weather conditions.
