Macron promotes unrest, violates Iran sovereignty by meeting Alinejad
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemns Emmanuel Macron's meeting with Iranian dissident Masih Alinejad, who called for more sanctions on Iran.
Washington-based journalist, Masih Alinejad, who has been part of the campaign to sanction her home country, put up a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron as they discussed further attempts at delegitimizing Tehran.

Alinejad retweeted the Farsi version of the tweet, numbering what she demanded from the French president, including for France to recall its ambassador, halt nuclear negotiations, designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization, expel Iranian diplomats, and finally set up a meeting with a delegation for the opposition.
Macron held a meeting with a number of anti-Iran figures based in the US, including Alinejad, at the Elysee Palace, where he called the riots in Iran a "revolution."
Between 2015 and 2022, the US Agency for Global Media paid Alinejad over $628,000 to use her show in order to push Iranian women into challenging Iranian laws, while also demanding more sanctions against her country. Alinejad has been living in the US for the past decade working as a full-timer for VOA Persian – or, Voice of America Persian – a media outlet directly funded by the US government, made to capitalize on harmful narratives in favor of Washington's interests.

Tehran condemns Paris
In response to Macron's meeting with Alinejad, who has been inciting violence in Iran, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, condemned the meeting which took place on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum on Friday.
“It is surprising that the president of a country claiming to support freedom, lowers his level and meets with a hated pawn who, in the recent months, has clearly tried to spread hatred, violence and terrorist acts in the Islamic Republic of Iran and also against its diplomatic missions as well as diplomats of the Islamic Republic abroad," said Kanaani.
The spokesperson also brought up Macron's statements during the unrest in Iran, saying he supports the so-called revolution - Kanaani slammed the statements as regretful and a cause for shame, according to the Foreign Ministry's website.
The meeting, according to Kanaani, is a flagrant violation of France's international responsibilities in fighting terrorism and violence. Paris is embarking on the opposite, according to Kanaani, arguing that France is rather promoting terrorism.
The anti-Iran measures that France has taken will be ingrained in the memory of Tehran, stressed Kanaani, who noted that the Iranian population is politically aware of the West's selective humanity when it comes to Iran regarding human rights.
In the most recent wave of US and European meddling in Iranian affairs which has contributed to the instability of the country, European leaders have taken to Twitter to denounce Iran, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who backed sanctions against Tehran in his most recent Twitter post.
