Tangier witnessed a massive protest on Tuesday evening as demonstrators took to the streets to denounce the Israeli aggression that has led to the killing of hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza.

The demonstration, called for by the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and Against Normalization, saw protesters decry what they described as the renewed Israeli crimes against Gaza and reject any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land.

According to Morocco’s Hespress news site, the demonstrators chanted slogans against the Israeli regime and the United States, which they accused of being complicit in Palestinian bloodshed. They also criticized official Arab positions, describing them as weak and submissive to American influence.

Warnings against normalization

Participants in the march warned against normalization with the Israeli regime, calling it a strategic mistake and a betrayal of the Palestinian cause. They urged authorities to reverse policies they believe support the Israeli occupation at the expense of Palestinian rights.

Waving Palestinian flags and holding banners condemning the ongoing Israeli assault, protesters demanded that Palestinian resistance respond appropriately to the Israeli violation of the ceasefire. They also called for steadfastness in confronting what they termed the brutal occupation.

The protesters further condemned international silence in the face of what they called massacres against defenseless Palestinians by the heavily armed Israeli military. They accused the international community of complicity in the aggression and urged Arab and Islamic nations to rise in protest in support of Palestinian resilience.

International protests

Protests erupted across the globe in response to "Israel’s" resumption of airstrikes on Gaza, which have resulted in the killing of at least 400 Palestinians in less than 48 hours and intensified the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

Thousands of people in cities worldwide have gathered to demand an end to "Israel's" ongoing genocide in Gaza, calling for international accountability, an end to US and European support for Tel Aviv, and a Free Palestine.

In London, protesters gathered outside Downing Street for an emergency rally, waving Palestinian flags and chanting "Stop Arming Israel, Free Palestine." Activists also condemned the US and British governments for their complicity in the violence. "What Israel did last night was done with the permission of the US and probably the British government too," one speaker remarked. The rally featured a speech demanding an end to the killing of Palestinian children.

In Toronto, thousands marched up Yonge Street, the world’s longest street, demanding an end to "Israel’s" bombardment of Gaza. Protesters raised Palestinian flags and called for global intervention to halt the massacre. In response to the growing protests, some local Zionist groups attempted to suppress the movement, but the solidarity for Palestine continued to build momentum.

The staggering death toll and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza have fueled widespread anger and calls for international intervention to stop the bloodshed and ensure justice for Palestinians, who have been suffering from relentless bombing and a suffocating blockade for almost 16 months.
