Protesters have gathered in Denmark and Greece in support of Palestine and to call for an end to the genocide perpetrated by "Israel", as the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza continues to surge, today going past 62,000 killed since October 7.
A crowd of more than 10,000 people gathered for a pro-Palestine demonstration in Copenhagen on Sunday, calling for an end to the war in Gaza and urging Denmark to officially recognize the state of Palestine.

A broad alliance featuring approximately 100 organizations, including Oxfam, Greenpeace, and Amnesty, as well as various unions, political parties, artists' collectives, and prominent activists, including Greta Thunberg, participated in the march.
Gathering under sunny skies outside the Danish parliament, the demonstrators, many of them families with young children, waved flags and carried banners, chanting "Stop Arms Sales", "Free Free Palestine" and "Denmark Says No to Genocide".

Although a traditional supporter of "Israel", Denmark has stated that it intends to use its current presidency of the European Union to increase pressure on the Israeli government to end the war on Gaza, a war which Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen recently said had gone "too far". Despite this, Denmark stated it does not intend to recognize a Palestinian state.
"Those who are in power are not stopping the genocide, so it's even more important to go out and protest and show all the leaders that we do not agree with this," Michelle Appelros, a 43-year-old demonstrator, told AFP.
Hundreds gather in Greece in support of Palestine
Hundreds of protesters, gathering at midday at Thessaloniki’s landmark White Tower Square and carrying Palestinian flags alongside banners with pro-Palestine slogans, marched through the northern Greek city on Sunday, August 24, to demonstrate against "Israel’s" ongoing war on Gaza.

Asserting that "Israel’s" attacks in Gaza amounted to genocide, the rally’s speakers called upon the international community, with a specific urgency directed at the European Union, to end its inaction.

These protests come as "Israel" intensifies its genocidal war on Gaza, moving forward with plans to invade Gaza City and occupy the entirety of Gaza, all while forcibly displacing the remaining population and cornering them southward.
On August 24, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that hospitals had received the bodies of 64 martyrs and 278 injuries over a 24-hour period, with many more victims remaining trapped beneath debris and along roads, unreachable due to the continued bombardment.
Since October 7, 2023, and as of August 24, 2025, the death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza has surged to 62,686 Palestinians killed and 157,951 injured, with the total toll having risen by 10,842 killed and 45,910 wounded since March 18, 2025.
