Military Court Issues a Death Sentence in Absentia against Khalifa Haftar
A military court in Misrata issued a death sentence in absentia against Libyan general Khalifa Haftar's for bombing the Air Defense College in the city.
Libyan media reported that a military court in Misrata had issued a death sentence in absentia against General Khalifa Haftar.
The sentence included other soldiers, including Abdel Razek al-Nadori, Saqr Jrushi, Abdul Salam al-Hassi, Al-Mabrouk al-Ghazawi, Muhammad Mansour, and Saad al-Werfalli.
The Military Prosecution in Misurata announced its sentence after accusing Khalifa Haftar of bombing the headquarters of the Air Defense College in the city, and the consequent killing of one of the college's soldiers, according to the Libya Al-Ahrar channel.
According to the text of the ruling, the Military Prosecutor’s Office requested the Military Police Department to implement the sentence against the convicts under the stated laws and orders.
It also confirmed that the sentence will be enforced under Article 92 of the Code of Military Criminal Procedure.
The Libyan General erstwhile announced his candidacy for the presidential elections in Libya, on the 16th of November.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli media confirmed that Saddam Haftar, Khalifa's son, visited "Israel" and asked for help from it in exchange for a normalization agreement would he become president of Libya.
