On Sunday, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsiya, revealed that the vanished Falcon 10 plane in Afghanistan had been carrying six people in total, four crew members and two passengers.
"Preliminary: there were six people on board the aircraft — four crew members and two passengers," the agency said on their Telegram channel.
Earlier, a passenger plane flew off-course and crashed into the mountains in Badakhshan, Afghan news agencies reported.
Authorities said the plane was performing a charter medical flight from Gaya, India, to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, then Zhukovsky, Russia.
The plan was chartered by the State Register of Civil Aircraft of Russia and reportedly stopped contact with the air traffic control watchtower and disappeared from radar later on Saturday, as it flew over Afghanistan, near the Tajikistan border.
Rosaviatsiya also revealed that it is in contact with the aviation authorities of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, adding that a search mission is in progress.
