The government of Albania has barred Maryam Rajavi, the renowned ringleader of the terrorist Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), from entering the country.

According to sources, the counter-terrorism court in Albania issued the ban after reviewing evidence that shows the group has run terrorist activities in Iran.

Rajavi escaped to France from Albania in late June after Albanian authorities raided an MKO camp owing to its involvement in "terror and cyber-attacks" against foreign organizations. They seized 150 computer devices linked to terrorist activities.

Reports revealed that at least one MKO terrorist was killed and dozens of others were injured during the clashes at the camp, known as Ashraf-3, in the northwest of the capital Tirana.

According to reports, the MKO terror group member killed in the raid was 'Abdolvahhab Faraji,' a prominent commander of the terrorist group with expertise in military engineering operations who oversaw technical and engineering activities during an MKO terrorist operation against Iran in July 1988.

Earlier last month, a top Iranian criminal court geared up to prosecute over a hundred members of MKO, who were accused of being responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Iranian citizens. The court issued a call for 104 MKO members, including their leader to appoint legal representatives to defend their rights during the upcoming trial.

The MKO has a long history of carrying out terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, resulting in a tragic toll of almost 12,000 lives out of the approximately 17,000 victims of terrorism in Iran over the past four decades.

MKO members spent several years in Iraq, where they were housed and armed by Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi dictator. They supported Saddam during the imposed war against Iran from 1980 to 1988 and then assisted him in quelling domestic disturbances in various sections of the Arab country.
