Moldova expels employee from Russia embassy, Moscow to respond
The expulsion of the employee may be linked to the rocket debris that fell on several houses in Naslavcea, north of Moldova.
The Moldovan Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that Moldova declared one employee of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau persona non grata.
The ministry added that the person is obliged to leave the country as per the provisions stated in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Shortly after, Russia received the information after Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned to the headquarters of the Moldovan foreign ministry in Chisinau.
The Russian Foreign Ministry then told Sputnik that Russia will respond to Moldova's decision accordingly.
"As the Russian side stated earlier, Russia will issue an appropriate response," the Russian foreign ministry said.
Earlier today, it was reported that rocket debris that fell on several houses in Naslavcea, in the northern region of Moldova, were identified to be Russian-made, according to Moldovan authorities.

Moldova’s deputy interior minister Oleg Babin said that the incident would “be considered as an accident.”
Over the past few weeks, civilians in Moldova have been protesting the government's ties with NATO, with some calling for a complete cut with the alliance.
On October 23, it was reported that over 90,000 people participated in a protest over the matter.
