In light of the ongoing brutal massacres of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, dozens of Moroccan activists and intellectuals call on Morocco to end normalization with "Israel".

Moroccan activists and intellectuals called on Monday for "immediately ceasing normalization with Israel and severing all ties with the entity." This plea comes amid the war crimes committed against the Palestinians with the aim of eliminating them through genocide and forced displacement.

Over 180 signatories urged the Moroccan state in a statement to "officially and explicitly cease all ties with the Zionist entity, whose hands are stained with the blood of children, women, and youth victims."

The signatories underscored in their statement that the call is based on basic human values, condemning the genocide and war crimes perpetrated by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people. The call also stems from the Palestinians' right to exist and the necessity of upholding the dignity of Moroccans and respecting their sentiments. The signatories affirmed their unwavering and unconditional alignment with the Palestinians, expressing full support for the Palestinian Resistance.

The statement emphasized that the ongoing normalization "represents a fatal blow to the Palestinian cause, insults Moroccans, and is detrimental to the interests of the country, which has consistently demonstrated openness."

It highlighted that "the primary and ultimate beneficiary of this normalization is the usurping entity, using it as a pretext to legitimize its ongoing occupation and perpetration of displacement and genocide against the Palestinian people."

The statement urged the Moroccan state to play an effective role in exerting pressure to halt the escalating bloodshed and attacks on defenseless civilians. Additionally, it called for facilitating the arrival of humanitarian aid, all within the context of a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian cause.

The Moroccan activists and intellectuals who endorsed the call highlighted how the Zionist entity insists on disregarding all resolutions issued by the United Nations and international law. They highlighted its violations of covenants and its imposition of collective punishment on the Palestinians.

Early last month, demonstrators in Morocco and Pakistan went out in large numbers on October 16 to voice their support for Palestine and Gaza.

In Morocco, a "million-person march" went through the streets of Rabat in rejection of normalization, carried out by Arab states, including the country's own government headed by King Mohammed VI, and in support of Palestine.

Ahmed Wehman, one of the march's organizers, said, "The Moroccan people have renewed their support for Palestine and the Palestinian Resistance through their million-person march, which demonstrates unwavering solidarity."
