In a heartfelt statement, Hezbollah announced "with deep sorrow and grief" on Saturday the passing of Umm Hassan, the mother of the Resistance group's leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, after a long struggle with an illness.
The party expressed its deepest and most sincere condolences to Sayyed Nasrallah, describing Umm Hassan as "a faithful and pure mother who raised and nurtured a devout, striving, and noble family."
"The loss is grievous and the sorrow is great, but we are consoled by the decree of Allah and His will, accepting His judgment and His wisdom," the statement read.
The Islamic Resistance also extended condolences to Sayyed Nasrallah's father, Sayyed Abdul Karim, and all his family.
"Our condolences go out, especially, to our commander and leader, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah."
"His sorrow is our sorrow and what befalls him affects all the followers of this blessed path. We ask Allah Almighty to grant him, his father, and the entire family patience and solace and to prolong his life as a leader and an inspiration, as Allah has honored this resistance, our homeland, and our nation through him."
"We pray to Allah Almighty to grant the beloved [Umm Hassan] mercy and the highest ranks," the statement continued.
Hezbollah concluded the statement by inviting the Resistance's supporters and members to participate in her funeral procession and "to console our dear leader Sayyed Nasrallah" at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Ghobeiry.
The president of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, Ansar Allah movement spokesperson, Mohammad Abdul Salam, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement offered their condolences to Sayyed Nasrallah over the sad event of his mother's passing.
