Mourners of Jameel Kayyal attacked in Nablus
Confrontations broke out between the Palestinian security forces and the convoy receiving liberated prisoner Mohammed Aref, followed by an attack on a Palestinian martyr's funeral procession.
On Monday, Palestinian security forces intercepted a convoy receiving the freed prisoner Mohammed Aref in the northern occupied West Bank.
According to Palestinian media outlets, security forces suppressed a group of young men who headed to the greeting ceremony of the released prisoner at Nour al-Shams Camp after 19 years in captivity.
In a related context, the security forces in Nablus obstructed the funeral procession of the martyr Jameel Kayyal and assaulted mourners with teargas.
Kayyal, 31, was shot by the Israeli occupation forces straight in the chest today at dawn and 5 others were injured during an Israeli incursion into Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Al Mayadeen correspondent in the West Bank reported that calm was restored in Nablus following the confrontations between Palestinian security forces and mourners of Kayyal.
Local sources reported that dozens of citizens suffocated as a result of tear gas fired by the security forces.
The citizens denounced the continuous coordination between Palestinian security forces and Israeli occupation forces which led to dozens of resistance fighters being arrested in the past years.
Doctor Ghassan Hamdan, the head of the Nablus Office of the Palestinian Medical Relief, considered that the attack on the funeral procession under the pretext of having armed resistance fighters present at the funeral is a grave mistake.
Hamdan stressed that the behavior of the security forces is completely unacceptable and reflects the tragic situation of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
