New Pakistan army chief from Kashmir: Will protect all our motherland
The newly assigned Pakistan's Army Chief visits the Kashmir Line of Contact and says that the army will defend the country's land.
Pakistan's newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, announced during a visit to Kashmir's Line of Control that the army is ready to defend "every inch of our motherland" and prepared to move the fight back into the enemy's land.
Lieutenant-General Asim Munir took the position of Pakistan's army chief earlier in November.
Munir was quartermaster general - in charge of supplies for the entire army - and served in an area disputed with India that borders China.

"Let me make it categorically clear, Pakistan's armed forces are ever ready, not only to defend every inch of our motherland but to take the fight back to the enemy if ever war is imposed on us," he said, according to a statement from the military's media wing. "Indian state will never be able to achieve her nefarious designs," the chief said.
Kashmir is a disputed region that falls between Pakistan and India and is claimed by the two nuclear countries as part of their lands.
Pakistan and India have twice entered a war in the past few decades over the region, however, since 2021, the LoC (Line of Contact) has seen quietness after a ceasefire was renewed between the countries.
