North Korea: Recent weapons test poses no threat
Regarding the missiles that North Korea has tested in the past days, the ambassador to the United Nations calls on the United States to stop "double standards" toward the North.
North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations, Han Tae-sung, considered that "the recent series of weapons tests conducted by his country does not pose any threat to its neighbors."
In a speech at the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, Han Tae-song said that the recent missile tests were part of the medium and long-term defense development plans, and do not represent any threat or harm to the security of neighboring countries," according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pyongyang.
The North Korean ambassador also called on the United States to stop its "hostile policies" and "double standards" toward the DRPK, to end all offensive military exercises, and to deploy various strategic nuclear assets in and around the Korean Peninsula.
He pointed out that "considering North Korea's self-defense exercises as a threat is an intolerable provocation, a frank double-standard act, and a flagrant violation of sovereignty."
On another note, North Korea tested an advanced cruise missile and a tactical guided missile warhead on Friday.
It also tested hypersonic missiles, on January 5 and 11, as Seoul and Washington expressed concerns about Pyongyang's missile launches, and renewed calls for Pyongyang to return to dialogue.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea allegedly fired one ballistic missile from the country's interior toward the Sea of Japan.
"North Korea today at about 8:10 a.m. fired one presumably ballistic missile from the interior part of the country towards the Sea of ​​Japan. The intelligence agencies of South Korea and the United States are conducting a detailed analysis of the additional information," the South Korean military told reporters in a statement.
Test on January 11th
South Korea's military reported that North Korea fired a suspected ballistic missile into the sea, less than a week after Pyongyang reported testing a hypersonic missile.
The early-morning launch occurred as the United Nations Security Council convened in New York to discuss last week's test conducted by Pyongyang.

Moreover, Pyongyang carried out six missile tests in January, including the launch of hypersonic missiles, during one of the most intense single-month barrages on record while rejecting US offers of talks.
