On Ma'madani massacre anniversary, IRGC reiterates Resistance support
The IRGC says Israeli attacks on medical centers are a turning point in the dark history of this entity and a disgrace to its backers.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) affirmed that it will not hesitate to support and decisively assist the Resistance, reaffirming the Palestinian people's legitimate right to self-determination and the liberation of their land from oppression and occupation.
In a statement marking the first anniversary of the al-Ma'madani Hospital massacre, also known as al-Ahli Baptist Hospital massacre, in Gaza, the IRGC said that as part of its crimes, the Israeli occupation targeted medical teams in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the Iranian Red Crescent on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
On October 17, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces targeted the al-Ma'madani Hospital in central Gaza, killing nearly 500 Palestinians, most of them displaced families, patients, children, and women, which sparked wide Arab and international condemnations.
Following the massacre, UN experts denounced the bombing of hospitals and schools as "crimes against humanity," demanding the prevention of genocide.
They stressed that "the complete siege of Gaza coupled with unfeasible evacuation orders and forcible population transfers, is a violation of international humanitarian and criminal law."
The al-Ma'madani Hospital massacre marked just the beginning of Israeli attacks on a series of medical facilities in the besieged Strip.
The IRGC statement called for the prosecution of the United States and the supporters of the Israeli entity in the West, calling them complicit in the crimes of the occupation regime.
The Israeli attacks on medical centers are a turning point in the dark history of this entity and a disgrace to its backers, the IRGC underlined.
It pointed out that backers of the Israeli entity, particularly the United States, encourage it to commit further brutal massacres in Gaza and Lebanon by providing it with all forms of military, political, and security support.
