Medical sources at Al-Najah Hospital in Nablus announced the martyrdom of Khalil Yahya Al-Anis, from Al-Ain camp, after succumbing to the wounds he sustained from Israeli forces’ gunfire during their aggression on Nablus.

The Director of Emergency Unit in the Palestinian Red Crescent, Ahmad Jibril, stated that two Palestinian youths were wounded with live bullets in the head and thighs and were taken to the hospital, where one’s condition was described as critical.

He added that another Palestinian youth was injured after being run over by an Israeli occupation vehicle, in addition to 170 others, including an infant, who suffocated from poisonous gas.

Jibril indicated that the Israeli occupation forces prevented the medical staff of the Red Crescent from reaching the houses targeted by the poisonous gas to transfer the injured to the hospital and also targeted an ambulance with a gas bomb, directly, and opened fire on another while it was on its way to evacuate an emergency case, which resulted in the shattering of its windshield was shattered. All this took place despite prior coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Civil Defense Directorate in Nablus stated that its crews were dispatched to deal with a vehicle fire in Al-Montazah Street and another fire in a house in the same area, after the IOF shot sound and gas bombs directly at them, which led to a fire breaking out and the residents of the house suffocating.

This comes after Palestinian media reported that Resistance fighters confronted an incursion by the Israeli occupation forces in Nablus from a number of different directions, and Palestinian youths confronted them using locally-manufactured explosives.

The IOF intensified their military presence and set up ambushes and checkpoints in the vicinity of the villages and towns of Nablus, as part of their systematic campaign.

The Israeli occupation forces said the military entered the northern West Bank city to demolish the home of Osama Taweel, a Palestinian accused of allegedly killing Israeli soldier Ido Baruch last year.

This comes just two days after one Palestinian youth, Fares Hashash, was martyred at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces during a raid on the Balata camp in Nablus.

At the time, Palestinians sustained several injuries at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces as they stormed the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the West Bank.

They surrounded a house belonging to the Al-Salaj family, and an IOF bulldozer began leveling the vicinity of the Abu Wardeh pharmacy in the camp.

Palestinian freedom fighters opened fire on the IOF vehicles upon their breaking into the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, wherein the IOF pushed into the refugee camp with heavy military reinforcements.

Marking one of the bloodiest years in Palestine, the number of people martyred in the West Bank and Gaza Strip so far has risen to at least 155, including 33 martyrs in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which ended with a ceasefire on May 13.
