The IOF intensified their military presence and set up ambushes and checkpoints in the vicinity of the villages and towns of Nablus, as part of their systematic campaign.
The Israeli occupation forces said the military entered the northern West Bank city to demolish the home of Osama Taweel, a Palestinian accused of allegedly killing Israeli soldier Ido Baruch last year.

At the time, Palestinians sustained several injuries at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces as they stormed the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the West Bank.
They surrounded a house belonging to the Al-Salaj family, and an IOF bulldozer began leveling the vicinity of the Abu Wardeh pharmacy in the camp.
Palestinian freedom fighters opened fire on the IOF vehicles upon their breaking into the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, wherein the IOF pushed into the refugee camp with heavy military reinforcements.
Marking one of the bloodiest years in Palestine, the number of people martyred in the West Bank and Gaza Strip so far has risen to at least 155, including 33 martyrs in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which ended with a ceasefire on May 13.
