On Monday, the Palestinian Prisoners Information Office reported that the number of administrative prisoners has surpassed 2,200 prisoners, marking the highest count since the establishment of the Captive Movement.

The Office attributed this to the mass arrest campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation since October 7.

He added that the number of arrests has surpassed 3,000, pointing out that the occupation has put a significant number of arrestees in administrative detention without any charges filed.

Earlier on Sunday, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced that Israeli occupation forces assassinated 38-year-old prisoner Thaer Sameeh Abu Asab from Qalqilya Province in al-Naqab Desert prison.

Israeli occupation forces arrested Abu Asab on May 27, 2005, and sentenced him to 25 years in prison. It is noteworthy that Abu Asab is the sixth prisoner to be assassinated by the Israeli occupation following the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7.

The Prisoners Club indicated that the Israeli occupation is carrying out systematic operations against Palestinian prisoners, holding international powers supporting the Israeli occupation responsible, amid the ongoing violations committed against prisoners in Israeli prisons.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the occupation forces have arrested more than 2,735 Palestinians, according to the Prisoners’ Club, and about 170 Palestinians were martyred in the West Bank.

This comes as the Israeli occupation conceals all information related to the arrestees' identities, places of detention, and health conditions, despite all the demands made by the relevant institutions over the past period, and, still, the occupation refuses to disclose any information about them.
