Over 477 tons of humanitarian aid delivered to DPR, LPR in past day
Russia has been providing humanitarian aid to the Donbass people's republic and Ukrainian regions as part of the humanitarian response to the Ukraine war.
More than 45,500 tons of humanitarian aid have been raised by Russia's executive authorities jointly with Russian regions, public organizations, and patriotic movements, Russian National Defense Management Center Chief Mikhail Mizintsev said Tuesday.
More than 477 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to people in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), and Ukraine's southern regions in the past 24 hours, Mizintsev added.
"Five humanitarian operations were conducted on July 12, 2022, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and in the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions. A total of 477.6 tonnes of humanitarian aid were distributed among people," he said.
Mizintsev, also the head of the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, said that since March 2, a total of 42,722.9 tons of humanitarian aid had been delivered by Russia to Ukraine and the Donbass republics, with as many as 1,297 humanitarian operations conducted.
The official also revealed Saturday that more than 25,000 people, including about 4,000 children, have been evacuated from dangerous areas of Ukraine and the Donbass Region to Russia over the day.
"Despite the Kiev regime’s fierce resistance, 25,064 people, including 4,175 children, have been evacuated in the past 24 hours from dangerous areas of the Donbass republics and Ukraine to the Russian Federation," he said.
According to the Colonel-General, 2,434,298 people, including 383,402 children, have been evacuated to Russia since the start of the war.
Despite the constant aid deliveries from Russia, Ukrainian nationalists are reported to be taking humanitarian aid away from Donbass civilians.
