Overwhelming Azerbaijani support for peace treaty with Armenia: Poll
Last September, Azerbaijan launched a military offensive reclaiming significant portions of the region, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands of ethnic Armenians.
A recent poll conducted by Azerbaijan's Social Research Center has revealed that a significant majority of Azerbaijani citizens are in favor of signing a peace treaty with Armenia.
According to the survey results released on Thursday, 83.8% of respondents expressed support for the idea of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
The poll, conducted among 1,152 adults from June 10 to June 22, points to a clear sentiment among the Azerbaijani population regarding the ongoing conflict over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
In contrast to the majority in favor, 13.5% of respondents opposed the idea of a peace treaty, while 2.7% refrained from providing a definitive answer.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have a long-standing history of conflict, particularly over Nagorno-Karabakh, which escalated into full-scale wars following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Last September, Azerbaijan launched a military offensive reclaiming significant portions of the region, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands of ethnic Armenians.
Currently, the two neighboring countries are actively engaged in a process of border delimitation and demarcation, seeking to establish clear territorial boundaries and move towards a stable coexistence.
In light of this, protests have been ongoing since early May in Yerevan to demonstrate against the border demarcation, which have been led by Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.
Armenia's National Security Service has cautioned supporters of the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement to adhere to the law and avoid actions that could undermine the constitutional structure.
The security service noted that any illegal activities or threats to constitutional order will be addressed using legal measures.
