Palestine: Cases of suffocation in Masafer Yatta following IOF attack
Tear gas fired by Israeli occupation forces causes a number of civilians, including women and children, to suffocate.
A number of citizens suffocated as a result of the IOF firing tear gas canisters in Masafer Yatta, south of Al-Khalil, the occupied West Bank.
Fouad Al-Amour, the coordinator of the Protection and Resilience Committees in Masafer Yatta and Al-Khalil mountains, said, "The occupation forces tried to seize a vehicle from the area and began firing tear gas canisters at the citizens, including women and children, which led to a number suffocations that were treated by the Red Crescent crews at the scene."
For its part, Al-Quds Committee in Masafer Yatta said on its Twitter account that 12 Palestinian villages in Al-Khalil are facing the threat of displacement, noting that the Nakba has been ongoing since the seventies of the last century and it is returning today to the forefront of events after the issuance of forced displacement orders for the residents and demolitions targeting schools and medical centers.
Activists posted on Twitter scenes of the occupation oppressing the elderly men and women in Masafer Yatta.

Over 1,000 Palestinians live in fear of being forcefully displaced from their lands and homes at any time. On a daily, these men, women, children, and elderly face an oppressive occupation daily, especially after the Israeli Supreme Court rejected a petition against their forceful expulsion from an area designated by "Israel" as a place for military training. Masafer Yatta is located in a rural part of the occupied West Bank.
After nearly 20 years of inconclusive legal maneuvering, the Supreme Court issued its ruling last May, paving the way for the demolition of eight small villages in a barren, rocky area near Al-Khalil, known to Palestinians as Masafer Yatta.
