Palestinian consensus on expanding West Bank ops: Hamas official
Hamas Political Bureau member Hussam Badran tells Al Mayadeen that the Resistance factions are working with clear strategies and plans to increase the pace of resistance acts, including in the West Bank.
The occupied West Bank has been contributing to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood with maximum effort since day one, asserted Hamas Political Bureau member Hussam Badran.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen on Thursday, Badran noted that the Resistance's operations in the West Bank have recently evolved and its strength has accumulated, which caused great concern for the Israeli occupation, affirming that this Resistance enjoys unparalleled national consensus despite all costs.
The Hamas official pointed out that there is a Palestinian decision to expand operations in the West Bank in terms of their scope and nature. He added that "Israel" has plans to end resistance in the West Bank but indicated that all its previous attempts have failed, especially since most of those taking part in the confrontations are youths.
According to Badran, October 7 has revealed that "the greatest danger is facing al-Quds and the West Bank before Gaza."
The Palestinian official said that the Resistance factions are working with clear strategies and plans to increase the pace of Resistance operations, including in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military command said on Wednesday it had initiated a "wide-scale operation" in the governates of Tulkarm and Jenin, targeting Palestinian Resistance fighters. In detail, the aggression was aimed at the Jenin, al-Far'a, and Nur Shams refugee camps, in Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarm respectively.
In response, Palestinian Resistance factions declared Operation Terror of the Camps as they confronted the Israeli assault, continuing their operations and confrontations across northern West Bank areas.
On Gaza ceasefire talks
Regarding the Gaza ceasefire talks, Badran confirmed that Hamas’ position on the negotiations is not isolated and is rather coordinated with other Resistance factions.
He told Al Mayadeen that recent negotiations in Cairo and Doha have not yielded anything new so far, revealing that the US is attempting to create the illusion of nearing an agreement for its own interests.
The Hamas official also indicated that continuing negotiations does not hinder the acts of Resistance, as the movement's goal is clear, which it seeks to achieve by all means.
Elsewhere, he pointed out that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unable to achieve his objectives in the Gaza Strip, which is why he is committing more massacres against civilians.
