Palestinian Factions Condemn the Assassination of Liberated Syrian Prisoner
Palestinian factions mourn the martyred prisoner Medhat Al-Saleh and condemn his assassination, adding that it proves the "bloody Zionist ideology."
The Hamas movement mourned the Syrian martyr Medhat Al-Saleh, who was martyred by the Israeli occupation forces while returning to his home in the Ain al-Tineh site, opposite the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan.
Hamas: Al-Saleh played a role in the resistance against "Israel"
In a statement, Hamas said that the liberated martyr Medhat Al-Saleh, played a role in the resistance against the Israeli occupation, rejecting the annexation of the Golan by the Zionists and stressing the unity of the Syrian people and lands.
The statement added that assassinating the freed prisoner, the martyr Medhat Al-Saleh, proves that the bloody Zionist ideology is based on murder and terrorism, noting that "this heinous crime" will not stop the resistance and steadfastness of our people in the occupied Golan who reject Zionist projects.
Islamic Jihad Movement: The martyr's blood will haunt the Zionists
In turn, the Islamic Jihad movement mourned the martyr and sent condolences to his family and companions that were a part of resisting the occupation in the Golan. He stressed that the “blood of the righteous martyr will be a curse that will haunt the Zionist occupiers until they are driven from the land of the Golan and from Palestine and all of Palestine.”
Palestinian Popular Front: the assassination was a coward move
For its part, the movement condemned the assassination of the liberated Syrian prisoner, stressing that “This cowardly assassination will not fail our resistance people in the Golan, and it comes in the context of the ongoing crimes by the occupation targeting militants and resistance fighters on Syrian land, especially the occupied Syrian Golan, which is the last of settlement projects to steal more of this Arab land.”
The resistance committees in Palestine also mourned the righteous martyr, noting in a statement that the assassination is "arrogance, thuggery, Israeli arrogance, and aggression against the entire nation."
Yesterday, Israeli media revealed that the martyr Medhat Al-Saleh was targeted by snipers belonging to the Israeli occupation on his way home in Ain al-Tineh, north of Quneitra.
Al-Saleh's history of arrests
It is noteworthy that the occupation arrested Al-Saleh, from the village of Majdal Shams Al-Jolani, for the first time in 1983 while trying to cross the ceasefire line between Syria and the occupied Syrian Golan. After his release, the occupation re-arrested him in 1985.
He was later captured by the Israeli occupation for 12 years, accused of joining a cell of the underground resistance movement in the Golan.
Al-Saleh was charged with "disturbing the work of the security services and the Israeli army, planting landmines on military roads, and planning to kidnap an Israeli soldier."
