The Palestinian resistance factions announced Wednesday the conclusion of their joint military exercises,  Al-Rukn Al-Shadid 2, four days after their start.

Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif Al-Qanou praised the exercises, saying they reflected the coordination between the military wings of the Palestinian resistance factions.

"The exercises reflected the military wings' ability and preparedness to confront any possible aggression on our people and protect them in Al-Quds, the West Bank, and in prison," Al-Qanou said on Twitter.

The Israeli occupation forces launched earlier today a series of attacks targeting three resistance monitoring points east of Gaza, Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.

Al-Rukn Al-Shadid 2 started on Sunday

The Palestinian resistance factions had launched Sunday the Al-Rukn Al-Shadid 2 joint exercises, which included military training and activities to coordinate an exchange of their expertise among the factions of Palestinian resistance to realize homogeneity and accelerate the execution of their operations.

This exercise came following the large exercise carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, named Al-Quds Shield, which included a review of new and qualitative military tactics, including missions simulating the capture of Israeli soldiers. 

The joint room of the Palestinian resistance factions had said the exercise came to increase military force against the occupation and prepare the resistance to protect the Palestinian people.

The last few days of 2020 saw the Palestinian resistance factions carrying out the first edition of these exercises, Al-Rukn Al-Shadid, during which the resistance launched salvos of missiles toward the Gaza sea. The resistance also launched the HESA Ababil drone during the maneuvers aimed at simulating the Israeli occupation's threats.
