Palestinians Stand in Solidarity with the Gilboa Prisoners
The organizing committee urged the support of all Palestinians in order to ensure the basic universal rights of Palestinian prisoners.
Palestinians in the occupied territories organized today a demonstration in support of the six prisoners in Gilboa prison today.
It came in response to the Higher Follow-up Committee’s invitation to participate in the demonstration, entitled "Freedom for the Prisoners of Freedom," in front of Gilboa prison.
The committee detailed the injustice directed towards the prisoners, as they are constantly harassed, mistreated, and oppressed by Israeli forces to the extent of being denied their basic rights which are guaranteed by international laws and treaties.
It also requested the support of all Palestinians in order to ensure the basic universal rights of Palestinian prisoners.
Earlier, the Palestinian prisoners in Gilboa prison sent a special message to all those who supported them in the face of Israeli mistreatment.
According to the private message, the prisoners from inside Gilboa Prison sent "their greetings to everyone who supported them in facing the Israeli crackdown campaign after the tunnel operation."
Operation Breakout from Gilboa
The tunnel operation refers to the heroic breakout performed by six prisoners in the Gilboa prison, considered as one of the most fortified Israeli prisons, which sent shockwaves throughout the Israeli administration.
During the past days, thousands of Palestinian people in the cities of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian interior, and Gaza participated in mass rallies in support of prisoners, as four of them were arrested following the operation: First Zakaria Al-Zubaidi and Mohammad al-Arida, followed by Mahmoud al-Arida and Yaqoub Qadri.
Nonetheless, the two remaining prisoners, Munadel Nafi'at and Ayham Kamamji, and the operation itself stand as witnesses over the failure of the apartheid state to smother the Palestinian will.
