Paris calls for UNSC Lebanon emergency meeting amid Israeli aggression
The French Foreign Minister calls on all parties to "avoid a regional conflagration" that would be "devastating for everyone."
France called for an emergency United Nations Security Council UNSC meeting this week to discuss the situation in Lebanon, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Monday as "Israel" continues its wide-scale aggression on the country for the third day, killing in a preliminary toll almost 560 people and wounding over 1,800.
"I have requested that an emergency meeting of the Security Council be held on Lebanon this week," French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told the United Nations General Assembly UNGA, calling on all parties to "avoid a regional conflagration that would be devastating for everyone," especially civilians.
Throughout Tuesday, Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes across numerous areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region in the northwest, resulting in the destruction of homes, residential buildings, and civilian infrastructure.
'In defense of Lebanon'
Israeli media reported citing a source in the occupation army that, within the first two days of the aggression, "Israel" dropped over 2,000 bombs on Lebanon and carried out around 3,000 airstrikes.
Meanwhile, the Resistance in Lebanon continues to upscale its operations in "defense of Lebanon and in support of the Palestinians in Gaza and their honorable Resistance."
Hezbollah has expanded the range and scope of its rocket and drone strikes since the Israeli aggression started early Monday.
For the first time ever, the Resistance struck Tel Aviv on Monday, forcing hundreds of thousands of settlers to bomb shelters.
Hezbollah unveiled in a statement the Qader 1 ballistic missile, announcing that it was used to strike the Mossad command center responsible for the pagers and two-way radios terrorist attack and the assassination of the Resistance group's leaders.
The command center is based in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, Hezbollah confirmed in its statement.
