Pence angry at Trump Tweets, might run for 2024 presidency: CNN
The former VP who boasts about 'upholding the law' informed no one about the plot to overturn the elections.
A CNN report on Monday revealed that former Vice President Mike Pence told ABC News that the Tweets Trump wrote about Pence not having the 'courage' to unilaterally overturn the elections angered him.
On January 6, Trump wrote a Tweet urging his VP to overturn the 2020 elections during the session in Congress for counting the electoral college votes to formalize the victory of President-elect Joe Biden — something Pence cannot do by law.
"It angered me,” Pence said. "But I turned to my daughter, who was standing nearby. And I said, ‘It doesn’t take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law.’ The president’s words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem."
He further said that the Tweets were "reckless" and he criticized Trump for being "part of the problem" that day.

DOJ little choice but to interview Pence.

According to the CNN report, when Pence assumed his VP duties, he was "fiercely loyal" to the Trump administration despite the numerous hilarious controversies that defined the administration.
But when Capitol Hill riots happened - during which protesters were heard chanting to hang Mike Pence - has sharply criticized Trump for his reckless remarks, going as far as denouncing Trump's "Big Lie" about the elections being stolen.
Here is @MoBrooks inciting the rabid, armed mob, that he helped organize, to attack the Capitol, kill Pelosi (note Mo’s hat), and hang Mike Pence on #January6th.

Try to rub it off, Mo, but that stank is permanent. https://t.co/5esZFNuspx pic.twitter.com/qWDO4I1oq3
"President Trump is wrong," Pence said. "I had no right to overturn the election.”
The report clearly is an attempt to victimize Pence who had every opportunity to report the plot to authorities.
If he really was that concerned for the law, he would have indeed reported to the FBI or any other law enforcement agency.
Mike Pence has recently expressed interest in running for the 2024 Presidential race but never formally declared his bid to run.
He believes that it is almost certain that he will receive backlash from MAGA Republicans, especially since Trump is set to announce his 2024 on Tuesday, as per the statements of former advisor Jason Miller.
Another point of tension between the two was evidenced by the opposing candidates which Mike Pence and Donald Trump backed during the midterm seasons.
It was as if candidates were engaged in a sort of proxy war opposing the former President to the former Vice President.
Most of the candidates Trump had backed were widely supportive of his "Big Lie" about electoral fraud in the 2020 elections.
As for the former VP, Pence says he was more concerned with maintaining traditional conservative policies.
Yet, Pence has been watchful so as not to completely detach himself from Trump.
“You know, what I can tell you is I have every confidence that the Republican Party is going to sort out leadership,” Pence said last month.
“But after that, we’ll be thinking about the future, ours and the nation’s.”
