Pentagon monitoring unknown drone presence near US bases in UK
Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder told reporters that none of the flyovers have affected the US bases.
The Pentagon is closely watching unexplained drone sightings over US military locations in the United Kingdom.
"They are being actively monitored," Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday, detailing that none of the incursions have affected "the base residents, the facilities or the assets that we have on those bases. "
According to Ryder, the US continues to "work with host nation authorities and our mission partners to ensure the safety of our personnel, our facilities and the equipment."
On Sunday, the US Air Force reported that tiny unidentifiable unmanned aerial vehicles had been seen above three US airbases in the United Kingdom between November 20 and 22.
Drone sightings near US bases in the UK came after German media reported a drone purportedly tracking the HMS Queen Elizabeth, one of the most sophisticated British aircraft carriers, when it entered the German port of Hamburg last Friday.
