Petro to Netanyahu: Gaza crimes parallel those against Jews in Europe
Colombia's president confronted Netanyahu, likening him to the perpetrators of violence against Jews in Europe, amid the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro said that history will remember Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a perpetrator of genocide.
Addressing Netanyahu, Petro added that bombing thousands of innocent children, women, and the elderly doesn't make you a hero but rather places you alongside those who killed millions of Jews in Europe.
The Colombian president emphasized that "genocide is still genocide" regardless of religion, urging Netanyahu to make an effort to put an end to the massacres, "at the very least."
Petro's statements were in response to Netanyahu's remarks earlier when he said that "Israel will not accept lectures from an 'anti-Semite' and supporter of the Hamas movement."
~35,000 martyrs in Gaza
During the seven months of the genocidal war perpetrated by the occupation in Gaza, the death toll reached 34,971, and the number of wounded increased to 78,641, as per the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
The Ministry indicated that several victims are still trapped under rubble and stranded on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them.
The occupation forces continue in their raids on all areas of the Gaza Strip, escalating their aggression in both northern and southern Gaza, targeting civilian residences and the shelters housing displaced Palestinians.
International bodies have issued warnings about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, citing concerns over the imminent depletion of fuel and food supplies within days. This situation is exacerbated by the occupation's control over the Rafah crossing.
Furthermore, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that "the current situation in the Gaza Strip represents a crossing of all red lines."
