Petro urges large-scale concert in Bogota denouncing 'Israel'
Colombian President Gustavo Petro calls for a "cry of humanity against infamy," urging artists to unite and denounce the Israeli ethnic cleansing policy in Palestine.
On Monday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro took to X to call upon artists to unite in organizing a significant concert within the country, serving as a collective protest against the Israeli "genocide" against the Palestinian people.
In his post, Petro quoted renowned Puerto Rican rapper Rene Perez Joglar, Residente, who strongly criticized "Israel" and its genocide against Palestine.
He drew inspiration from Residente's sentiments and urged all artists to join him in a large-scale concert in Bogota in protest of Israeli war crimes.
"I would like Rene and everyone who wants to use art to criticize the genocide against the Palestinian people to join me in the Plaza de Bolivar or in Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota in a great concert against genocide and for life," said Petro on X before adding "Let a cry of humanity against infamy come out of Bogota. And from there, we go to Medellin, Cali, and Barranquilla and the regions of Colombia, go out in caravans to find us in the middle of art and music to come together to shout ‘Enough, stop the killing!"
Me gustaría que Rene y todo el que quiera usar el arte para criticar el genocidio contra el pueblo palestino me acompañaran en la plaza de Bolívar o en el parque Simón Bolívar de Bogotá en una gran concierto contra el genocidio y por la vida.

It is important to note that Residente had announced earlier that his album release would be postponed due to the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Colombian President says 'extermination' of Palestinians is 'Nazi'
Last month, after videos emerged from the Israeli occupation's massacre of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, Petro dubbed "Israel's" crimes as "Nazi" in a post on X.
In a quote post of the video from the Deir al-Balah massacre, Petro wrote: "They say this is not Nazis' [acts]. Even if the Western conscience does not like these facts, the extermination of 5,300 Palestinian boys and girls is Nazi, I repeat NAZI."
Dicen que esto no es de Nazis. Asi no le guste a la conciencia occidental estos hechos, el exterminio de 5.300 niños y niñas pañestinos es de Nazis, repito de NAZIS. https://t.co/BYlnSdiF0T
