The executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization condemned the signing of a military and security agreement between Morocco and "Israel".

The agreement "constitutes a departure from the stipulations of the Arab summits, the Arabic consensus, and the Arab Peace Initiative, and harms Arab national security and the interests of the Arab Umma," the PLO said.

The organization asserted that it was hoping for Morocco, "which chairs the al-Quds committee, not to take this dangerous step in light of the racist Israeli measures against the Palestinian people." The PLO also urged the North African Arab state to reject all peace agreements and negotiations and the two-state solution.

The Executive Committee called on Rabat to reverse the agreement with the Israeli occupation's government, saying any departure from the Arab Peace Initiative - which stipulates that normalization only comes after "Israel" ends its occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories - is impermissible and rewards the Israeli occupation.

Hamas Spokesperson Sami Abu Zahri condemned the Moroccan agreement with "Israel" on Twitter, saying it is harmful to the region and provides the occupation with leeway to escalate its aggression against the Palestinian people.

"We call on Morocco to reverse this step that constitutes a dangerous and extreme development in the process of normalization," the tweet said.

Israeli occupation Security Minister Benny Gantz and Moroccan Defense Minister Abdellatif Loudiyi signed Wednesday a memorandum of understanding on security cooperation between "Israel" and Morocco.

During his visit to Rabat, Gantz said the signed memorandum paves the way for military sales and cooperation between "Israel" and Morocco after the two upgraded their diplomatic relations last year.

The Arab National Conference also condemns Gantz's visit

In its turn, the General Secretariat of the Arab National Conference (ANC) condemned today the visit of the Israeli Occupation Security Minister and war criminal Benny Gantz to Morocco and denounced the military agreement he signed with the Moroccan authorities.

The General Secretariat said this is clear proof that the normalization agreements with the enemy are nothing but a political cover for the establishment of an alliance between the normalizing Arab countries and the Zionist entity, at the military and economic levels.” The Secretariat also stressed that this comes as part of the “New Middle East” project launched by Shimon Peres in the 1990s, but obstacles prevented its implementation at the time.

The ANC General Secretariat described the agreement as a "violation of the overwhelming will of the Moroccan people," believing that "Palestine is a trust, whereas normalization is treason."
