After processing 16.76 percent of the votes, the National Election Office (NVI) announced that the ruling Fidesz-Hungarian Civic Alliance, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, received 67 percent of the votes, while the opposition coalition led by Peter Marki-Zay received 28 percent.

According to the NVI data, the Fidesz coalition receives 66.83 percent of the vote, resulting in 133 seats in parliament, while the opposition coalition receives 28.14 percent of the vote, resulting in 56 parliamentary mandates.

On Sunday, Hungary had regular parliamentary elections, with 199 seats to be distributed in two voting modalities: 106 seats in single-mandate constituencies under the majoritarian system, and 93 seats proportionally according to party lists.

Nearly 7.7 million Hungarians were registered to vote, according to the NVI.

Regular polls indicated the Fidesz alliance as the front-runner, although the difference between Fidesz and the opposition front remained small, ranging from 2-3 to 10%. According to a recent poll, the Fidesz alliance will take almost 50% of the vote, while the opposition coalition will receive over 40%.

Hungary's most recent parliamentary elections were conducted in April 2018, after which Orban was re-elected Prime Minister of Hungary for a fourth term by the newly elected Hungarian parliament.
