PMF: Ready to carry out orders to preserve Iraq sovereignty
Iraq's Chief of Staff slams the US aggression and says they constitute a breach of Iraqi sovereignty and undermine the efforts of the Iraqi government to maintain regional stability.
The Iraqi government's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have affirmed their readiness to carry out any orders from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to preserve Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The PMF's remarks come in the wake of a US aggression on Iraq and Syria late Friday, which resulted in the martyrdom of 16 people in Iraq, including Iraqi soldiers and civilians, and significant material damage.

In a statement, the PMF stated that "the American attack is a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty and an aggression against its official security apparatus."
In Syria, the attacks led to the killing of several civilians and soldiers, injuring others, as well as causing significant material damage, as per a Syrian military statement.
Earlier this week, a drone attack targeted a US base that was alleged by Washington to be in northeast Jordan, killing three US soldiers.
Earlier today, the Iraqi presidency, government, and parliamentary Security and Defense Committee slammed the US for blatantly violating Iraq's sovereignty, affirming the importance of the withdrawal of the US-led coalition from Iraq is vital for the region's security and stability.

'Resistance will not back down'
The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Yahya Rasool Abdullah, said the American strikes occurred at a time when Iraq is placing maximum efforts to ensure the stability of the region in light of the military escalations on the backdrop of the Israeli ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Abdullah declared that these attacks constitute a breach of Iraqi sovereignty and undermine the efforts of the Iraqi government, posing a threat that could lead the country and the region to dire consequences.
In a related context, the spokesperson for the Al-Nujaba Movement, Hussein Al-Mousawi, stated that "the aggression is an inseparable part of an American attempt to cover its failure" after it had become lost regarding its policies in the region.

Speaking with Al Mayadeen, he said that "American interference in Iraqi affairs has become significant and blatant."
The White House claimed on Saturday following the attacks that it had informed the Iraqi government prior to conducting the strikes on Iraq.
Commenting on Washington's claims, Al Moussawi said that the "United States' bid to shift the blame to the Iraqi government is a public deception," pointing out that the "US is trying to manipulate and incite public opinion against the PMF."

His remarks on Washington's allegations came in line with those of the Iraqi government, which accused "the US of engaging in deception and distorting facts by claiming prior coordination [with Baghdad] before committing this aggression," labeling it a "false claim" aimed at "misleading the international public opinion and shirking legal responsibility for this unacceptable crime."
On the Resistance's position following the US attacks, the spokesperson vowed that "the resistance will not back down until the American forces are expelled from our land."
