The chief of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh Al-Fayyad, confirmed that "the popular mobilization represents the will of the Iraqi people," and stressed that "the Iraqi people today possess a force to guarantee their future."

Al-Fayyad said, at the annual conference of the PMF on its ninth anniversary, that the PMF has achieved victory in its battles and added that "we are not a political party, not against anyone," reaffirming that "the popular mobilization of all Iraqis."

"We will all be loyal to the blood of the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis [founder of the PMF]," explaining that the PMF must properly assess its path, "where it started and where it's headed," and considered this assessment "fundamental to strategic understanding."

Al-Fayyad insisted that the PMF must be vigilant and respond to temporal decisions without having a clear strategic understanding.

The PMF chief further added that "We must not forget the role of the martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani, a teacher and an educator, who did everything he could, and what he did was very great."

Al-Fayyad considered that "Iraq before the start of the PMF was one thing and after the establishment of the PMF became something else," making reference to the successful battles against terrorist groups and the developmental projects undertaken by the PMF in various cities and provinces following years of war and destruction.

As such, Al-Fayyad insisted that the PMF "must record what we have witnessed, and history has been entrusted to us."

PMF protecting Iraqi state institutions, constitution: chief

The millions that took to the streets to mourn Quds Force commander martyr Soleimani prove the high regard he had within people's hearts, Popular Mobilization Forces chief Faleh Al-Fayyad said earlier in January of this year.

During the commemoration of the third anniversary of the assassination of resistance leaders, martyrs Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, as well as their companions, Al-Fayyad underlined that "the enemies were disappointed when they thought that, through assassinations, the will of nations would be broken."

"The assassination of Soleimani and Al-Muhandis was orchestrated by former US President Donald Trump," the PMF chief underlines.

"The PMF, through its firm foundation, deep roots, and steadfastness, is responding to the assassination of Soleimani and Al-Muhandis, and it is currently in the post-liberation phase after the conspiracy that was aimed at the Ummah," Al-Fayyad said. "The PMF safeguarded the country from all evils and offered sacrifices to safeguard the constitution."

Additionally, the official stressed that it was necessary for the PMF to "draw a roadmap for itself, as we are a military force, and we protect state institutions without monopolizing this power [...] the PMF will be away from politics, but we shall work with our brothers on political awareness to safeguard the constitution."

"The PMF defended all the components of Iraqi components, contrary to the false news being spread about it being sectarian," Al-Fayyad said. "We must have a certain level of awareness that will help us resist the enemies."
