Policeman killed, citizens injured in As-Suwayda: Damascus
The Syrian Ministry of Interior announces the death of a policeman and the wounding of another, in addition to a number of civilians, after gunmen stormed the As-Suwayda Governorate building in southern Syria.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the death of a policeman and the injury of another, along with a number of civilians, after a storming and shooting in the As-Suwayda Governorate building, in southern Syria.
A group of outlaws, some carrying individual weapons, blocked the road at 11:30 in the morning with burning tires next to the Al-Mashnaqa roundabout in As-Suwayda Governorate, the Ministry stated.

"The group later went to the As-Suwayda Governorate building and fired random shots, which led to the injury of one member and a number of citizens who were there. Then the group entered the building by force of arms, broke the office furniture, and stole a large part of the building's contents, including official documents," the ministry said.
"The group set fire to the building and the cars located near it and tried to storm the police command building, where the command guards confronted them, which led to the death of the policeman Mahmoud Al-Salmawi," it added.

The ministry concluded the statement by affirming that it will "pursue the outlaws and will take legal measures against anyone who tries to tamper with the security and stability of As-Suwayda Governorate and the safety of its citizens.
