Poll: Trump leads Biden in hypothetical presidential matchup
49% of respondents said they would vote for Trump if the US presidential election were held today, compared to 41% who would vote for Biden.
A national poll conducted by the new Center for American Greatness revealed that 49% of respondents would vote for Trump if the US presidential election were held today, compared to 41% who would vote for Biden.
Trump vs. Biden
The poll conducted between December 17 and December 19 among 750 registered voters revealed a lead in Trump’s popularity following a series of questions about Biden’s performance in office and a hypothetical matchup with Trump.
49% of respondents said they would vote for Trump were the election held today, compared to 41% who said would vote for Biden. An additional 10% had no opinion or could not choose.

Republicans vs. Democrats
The survey also asked voters which party they would choose to control the US House of Representatives; Republicans or Democrats. In that scenario, 48% voted in favor of the Republicans, whereas 42% voted for the Democrats.

When polled about control of the US Senate, the Republicans came in the lead with 51% of the votes, whereas 42% voted in favor of the Democrats’ control.
The poll’s margin of error is +/- 3.6%.
In addition, voters were questioned about Biden’s job performance. A massive 58% of voters disapprove of Biden’s job performance. Conversely, just 41% of voters approve of the job the president is doing.
