Polls show Trump ahead of Biden in 5 key battleground states
As the survey results spread, Biden's team released a statement by Democratic pollster Geoff Garin where he claimed that “the only consistency in recent public polls is inconsistency."
New surveys conducted by The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College show Donald Trump leading Joe Biden in 5 key battleground states.
According to the results, Trump is ahead in Pennsylvania (3 points), Arizona (7), Michigan (7), Georgia (10), and Nevada (12). Biden dominated with 2 points in Wisconsin.
As the survey results spread, Biden's team released a statement by Democratic pollster Geoff Garin where he claimed that "the only consistency in recent public polls is inconsistency."
“These results need to be weighed against the 30-plus polls that show Biden up and gaining – which is exactly why drawing broad conclusions about the race based on results from one poll is a mistake.”
Although Trump is in the middle of a hush-money trial, The Times said that “a yearning for change and discontent over the economy and the war in Gaza among young, Black, and Hispanic voters threaten to unravel the president’s Democratic coalition."
Trump, however, seems to be garnering a staggering 20% support from Black voters, the highest ever given to a Republican candidate since the civil rights movement.

In addition, Biden is up against a challenge from his own party in the battleground state of Arizona ahead of Senate elections, as he loses voters to not just former President Donald Trump as his voters are leaning more toward Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego.
Gallego is trying to win back the votes of Latinos, especially men, many of whom distanced themselves from the Democrat party under Biden’s leadership, and especially in the state where Latinos constitute about one-fifth of the electorate, as per AP VoteCast.
A poll of the seven swing states by The Wall Street Journal back in March showed Trump winning most votes by Latino men, 47% to 40%, while in 2020, Biden garnered 59% to 38%, according to AP VoteCast. The poll even showed Biden leading Trump with Latinos in general, but his margin was down from 2020.
However, voters cited cost-of-living problems and frustration with the social and political status quo as reasons for abandoning Biden in favor of Trump.
Abortion is another prominent campaign topic and current surveys show a majority (64%) believe abortion should be permitted in all or most cases. The surveys also found that respondents favor Biden in handling abortion rights concerns by 11 points.
However, over 20% of respondents blamed Biden more than Trump for Roe's slide.
Garin speculated that the majority of voters “are not paying close attention to the election and have not started making up their minds – a dynamic also reflected in today’s poll. These voters will decide this election and only the Biden campaign is doing the work to win them over.”
Biden threatened with impeachment over 'Israel' weapons suspension
US President Joe Biden is under threat of being impeached after Representative Cory Mills of Florida filed articles of impeachment against him for suspending weapon deliveries to "Israel", which comes after the President relayed to CNN that “we’re not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells” to "Israel" if it proceeds with invading Rafah.
In light of that, Republicans justified Mills' decision by recalling how Democrats accused former US President Donald Trump of “abuse of power” for reportedly withholding congressionally approved military aid in 2019.
Speaking to Fox News on Thursday, Mills said, “Joe Biden is pressuring Israel, our biggest ally in the Middle East, by pausing their funding that has already been approved in the House, if they don’t stop all operations with Hamas,” adding that it was a clear case of “quid pro quo” and that he plans to impeach Biden for it.
Mills has formally initiated the impeachment procedure in the US House of Representatives.
It’s very clear the violation by President Biden and his abuse of power to withhold congressionally appropriated aid for Israel in exchange for political favor. He is doing this because of the 13.2% “uncommitted” votes in Michigan where he now trails President Trump. He’s doing… pic.twitter.com/4G2XPyspTu

“In violation of his oath to faithfully execute the office of the president and to uphold the Constitution, President Biden abused the powers of his office by soliciting a ‘quid pro quo’ with Israel while leveraging vital military aid for policy changes,” as stated by Mills, while he posted a photo on X with the same rhetoric used in 2019.
