Popular Front calls for campaign in solidarity with Palestinian Raed Rayan
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine calls for a widespread support campaign for its fellow prisoner, Raed Rayan, who is on hunger strike against his second administrative detention.
Today, Saturday, the prisoners’ committee in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine called for the launch of a broad support campaign in solidarity with the prisoner Raed Yousef Rayan, from the village of Bayt Duqu.
Rayan announced his open hunger strike on the sixth of April, in protest against the renewal of his administrative detention for the second time.
The Front called on people to join the widest campaign of support in solidarity with Rayan.
The committee stated that the prisoner on hunger strike was arrested on 3/11/2021 after his house was raided. He was later transferred to administrative detention for six months. However, after the end of the administrative detention period, he was surprised by the renewal of his administrative detention for another four months.
Rayan had been previously detained in mid-2019 for a year and a half.

The Committee also held the Israeli occupation and the Prison Service fully responsible for the life of its hunger-striking comrade, calling on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to urgently intervene to know his health status amid the occupation's blackout against him.
The committee concluded its statement, stressing the need to combine all national efforts to shed the light on the policy of administrative detention, with an effort to pressure the occupation in all ways possible to stop it, including referring its leaders to international courts as "war criminals."
The administrative prisoners continue to boycott the occupation courts for the 106th day, as a rejection of the administrative detention policy.
