Positive atmosphere in Gaza talks, based on our conditions: Hamas
Hamas’ representative in Lebanon says "Israel" was compelled to engage in negotiations based on the conditions set forth by Hamas from the beginning.
Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was the pinnacle of Palestinian resistance, marking a historic event in the struggle for Palestinian rights, Ahmad Abdel Hadi, Hamas’ representative in Lebanon, stressed on Thursday.
Speaking during a gathering in Beirut commemorating the 37th anniversary of Hamas’ founding and honoring the martyrs of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Abdel Hadi said the strategic outcomes of this operation were evident from day one, asserting that the cumulative national Palestinian resistance, supported by allies, will eventually lead to the liberation of Palestine.
He underscored that resistance remains the only viable option under occupation, describing Operation Al-Aqsa Flood as an exceptional event that cannot be erased through "black propaganda" or other regional developments, as Palestine remains the central cause.
The Hamas official affirmed that the Resistance in Palestine remains steadfast, continuing to strike the occupation forcefully alongside the resilient Palestinian people, who have decided not to abandon northern Gaza, despite the genocidal campaign.
He expressed confidence that this steadfastness will soon bear tangible results.
Abdel Hadi also extended gratitude to the Axis of Resistance for its efforts amid widespread silence, inaction, and conspiracies, pointing out that this Axis has offered sacrifices, forefronted by the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah, martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and his comrades.
The Palestinian official warned that the Israeli government has begun implementing its decision to "annex" the West Bank into the occupation entity, underscoring that acts of resistance are a direct response to this occupation.
He called on all segments of the Palestinian population in the West Bank to focus their struggle solely against the occupation, cautioning against internal divisions, which "Israel" has long sought to exploit for its benefit.
Regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, the Hamas official said "Israel" is no longer discussing the details outlined in previous proposals, pointing out that the occupation was compelled to engage in negotiations based on the conditions set forth by Hamas from the outset.
Any flexibility shown by the Resistance in discussing phased agreements does not entail abandoning core principles, Abdel Hadi stressed, pointing out that the atmosphere is positive and that the negotiations are based on proposals previously agreed on by the group.
The Palestinian official stressed the importance of capitalizing on the outcomes of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood to advance the broader liberation project.
He also warned of the potential repercussions of recent developments on the status of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, particularly efforts to undermine their right to return to Palestine.
