Powerful 5.5 earthquake shakes South of Turkey
Seismological agencies estimate that the depth of the quake is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that a 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey on Tuesday at 08:44 local time (05:44 GMT).
The exact location of the epicenter was located at 65 kilometers (40.3 miles) from the city of Osmaniye and 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) from the city of Kozan in southern Turkey.

The agency estimates that the depth of the quake is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
According to the head of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), Yunus Sezer, there were casualties that resulted from the quake.

"At the moment, there are no negative situations after the magnitude 5.5 earthquake that occurred at 08:44 in Kozan district of Adana province," Sezer said on Twitter.
According to the EMSC, the quake ranks among the strongest six that struck the area since 05:00 local time (02:00 GMT).
AFAD said that the quake may be one of the aftershocks of the powerful January 6 earthquake that claimed the lives of over 50,000 people.
