A protest was held in the Tunisian capital on Friday to denounce the policy of ethnic cleansing being carried out by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in occupied Palestine.
Protesters raised Tunisian and Palestinian flags, alongside photos of women and children emaciated by hunger in Gaza and others killed by the Israeli bombardment and siege, while chanting calls to open the crossings, lift the blockade, end the famine, and stop the genocide. The demonstrators also carried signs rejecting normalization with "Israel".
Earlier this August, dozens of activists held a similar protest in central Tunis to denounce the ongoing crimes of siege and genocide that Palestinians have endured for over 22 months.
Activists from Tunisia's Popular Current party are now on their sixth day of a symbolic hunger strike, which began this Friday, aiming to spark a broader regional and international movement to end the siege and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.
Protests sweep through Europe; Germany represses protesters
Meanwhile in Europe, protests swept through the United Kingdom and Germany, denouncing the Israeli genocide in Gaza and calling on the governments to take action against "Israel".
A protest was held outside the Israeli embassy in London, organized by anti-Zionist Jewish groups, to denounce the genocide in Gaza.
Meanwhile, in Germany, the Berlin police arrested and violently repressed protesters as they demonstrated in condemnation of the Israeli war on Gaza, with videos showing police violently beating protesters and arresting others.
