Protests continue against Al-Julani; HTS arrests activists
Calls rise in Syria's occupied territories in the north to protest against Al-Julani and his terror group.
Protesters are using social media platforms to organize and participate in demonstrations against Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham chief Abu Mohammad Al-Julani and his militants in Idlib and the countryside of Aleppo.
This comes in response to the ongoing violations by HTS including killings, arbitrary arrests, security pursuits, lootings, and home raids.
Meanwhile, HTS terrorists dispersed several demonstrations that were held near the town of al-Dana, north of Idlib.
Terrorists used excessive force and opened live fire at protestors in their attempt to disperse them, but no injuries were reported.
It is worth noting that a huge demonstration was held in Sarmada, a town north of Idlib, during which people from the Hama governorate staged a sit-in at the town's roundabout to demand the release of the governorate's notables who were arrested by HTS without any justification. The demonstration was promptly dispersed and activists were arrested and their equipment damaged.
Many activists demanded that the protests intensify in the areas under Al-Julani's control so that the world could see the reality of the West-backed terrorist group, which is clamping down on civilians and drowning them in poverty and hunger.
Details of Syrian-Russian airstrikes on HTS sites revealed
Exclusive sources to Al Mayadeen Net have recently revealed that Turkish authorities are investigating assets and investments which they suspect are owned completely or jointly by HTS terror group leader Abu Mohammad Al-Julani in Turkey.
Sources further confirmed to Al Mayadeen Net that Al-Joulani has connections with some political figures in the opposition coalition government whose members reside in Turkey, and who manage some of Al-Julani's assets.
Furthermore, the sources indicated that Turkish authorities will find it difficult to confirm the involvement of the HTS chief in the assets which are under investigation, since Al-Julani partnered with individuals who are supposedly opposed to him in the scheme.
The terror leader invested in several businesses in Turkish cities, including Izmir, Istanbul, and Ankara. These investments are centered in the tourism and industrial sectors, with a reported total value of $100 million.
These assets, alongside his illegal taxing of residents in the areas under his control, provide the terrorist HTS group with crucial financing, sources told Al Mayadeen Net.
It is worth noting that Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) terror group was formerly known as Jabhat Al-Nusra and is the Syrian branch of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
Al-Julani's control over Idlib has reached alarming levels, as he not only monopolizes the import of crucial cosmetic materials used in surgical procedures, but has also established multiple cosmetic centers meant to disguise wanted individuals. In violation of the law, Julani personally owns and operates ten illicit cosmetic centers in Idlib, with additional stakes in centers located in Sarmada, Dana, and Salqin.
