Raisi sent his greetings to Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela's President, congratulating the South American country on the anniversary of its 1811 declaration of independence.
The Iranian President hailed the independence anniversary as a reminder of Simon Bolivar's efforts to liberate Venezuela and other countries in Latin America, saying the momentous occasion represents the battle of nations seeking freedom from colonialism.
"This historic day is a symbol of efforts by the freedom-seeking countries to abolish colonial dominance," the Iranian leader added.
He also voiced optimism for the development of the two nations' strategic and friendly ties, as well as the execution of earlier agreements.
