Raisi: Cooperation with Neighboring Countries Priority for Iran
Before heading to a summit for the Economic Cooperation Organization in Turkmenistan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasizes the importance of regional cooperation.
Today, Saturday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the importance of communication and cooperation with neighboring and regional countries and that cooperation is a "priority" for Iran.
Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that Raisi, before heading to a summit for the Economic Cooperation Organization in Turkmenistan, told reporters that "communication with neighboring countries and others across the region is a priority for us," highlighting that "the purpose of the meeting is to evaluate previous measures taken by the organization."
He added, "The second purpose of the summit is the bilateral meetings of the leaders of member states," noting that cooperation can "be very effective in strengthening economic relations in the region."
He pointed that this cooperation "will be very beneficial for both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the countries of the region, particularly in terms of developing economic relations through the Economic Cooperation Organization."
He noted that a meeting will be held with Turkmenistan President and senior officials, stressing that Iran and Turkmenistan are neighboring countries with close relations between them and that gas, transportation, and other issues will be the main focus in the talks between Iran and Turkmenistan.
